A look back at Le Mans Classics
Many hundreds of Club Le Mob guests make the bi annual pilgrimage and joined us at the Le Mans Classic.
Each successive Classic Le Mans has seen improvements made by the organisers each year it is staged. Racing is always action packed and full of incidents whilst the thousands of cars both racing and on display in the paddocks and club enclosures rekindle wonderful past memories. Cars some of us lucky enough to have enjoyed watching race in the 50’s and 60’s and before. The shear sight and sound of these iconic cars and the smell of Castrol R whisking us back in time.
The preceding Le Mans 24hrs is always a busy period for us and only a few weeks before the Classic. Having said goodbye to our 24hrs clients which typically include members and guests from teams such as Greaves Motorsport, Aston Martin Racing, Strakka Racing and Porsche we have little time before our Le Mans Classic guests arrive. The weather during the 24hrs and Classic Le Mans can of course be changeable but we are usually guaranteed spells of hot sunshine making a visit to the Le Mans Classic an experience never forgotten.
As always it is a great pleasure to meet up with our regular friends and welcome new comers to the fold. Guests arrive from the UK, Europe, USA, South America, the far east and all corners of the world and bring with them a spectacular collection of vehicles ranging from vintage Bentleys and Model T Ford to the latest prestige sports and exotica marques such as McLaren. We have been especially pleased to welcome such guests Richard Attwood and Vern Schuppan, driving in the Classic and staying with a leading team in one of our châteaux. Other guests have included members from the Morgan Owners Club Germany and the Netherlands who joined fellow Morgan guests to celebrated the centenary of Morgan. Among our regular guests are those representing a variety of major clubs typically Club Lotus, Porsche Club GB and the Morgan Owners Club. We have a special arrangement with Club Lotus where we are delighted to act as the Club's reception point for ticket collection by all members attending the Le Mans Classics.
Great racing, great camaraderie and great fun, the Le Mans Classic is definitely an event not to miss!
Don’t forget, put July 6th 7th 8th 2018 in your diaries and join us for the next Le Mans Classic.
